The big game for Ireland. I'll admit I'm not filled with confidence for this. Ireland are woefully short of experience at 20/20 level. Hope I'm wrong though.

Australia to bounce back in the other game

Would be a big shock to see Australia go out of the world cup in the group stages!

I have a good feeling about the Ireland game. I think there is going to be a huge Irish presence in the crowd which hopefully will play a part in the result.

Hopefully it will be a very cold day, that might be even more benficial than the crowd ;)

The exploits of the Dutch will have shown our lads anything is possible in 20/20.Its been a mixed bag in the warm up games. The hammering by West Indies doesn't look as bad now as it did at the time I suppose.

I'm not even going to try call it but we will need to be at the top of our game and get some breaks if we are to force an upset.

It's not looking fantastic for the Irish unfortunately, but we've pulled some surprising rabbits out of the hat before and i would really like to see the guys put it up to Bangladesh.

As for the Ozzies, I certainly wouldn't be worried about their fate in this.

I cant call this game really, but either way win or lose I think we will put on a good showing,

let's hope for a strong Irish win though, hopefully the top order can get us to a good start and build on that,

many times we have slipped as we go down through the batting,

but Niall O'Brien got a 62 from 52 balls there in a warm up against the South Africans so anything is possible,

    c'mon Ireland!...

what do ye make of the start? good wicket to get but they are hitting everythin! need to slow them down a bit, give em a scare!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,211 ✭✭✭Royale with Cheese

Yeah boundaries coming quite easily for Bangladesh unfortunately. A couple more wickets should slow that down, hopefully they'll come.

    Dropped. Ugh.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,211 ✭✭✭Royale with Cheese

Was gonna question Johnston bowling out his 4 overs, but he's doing a great job of removing the top order.

stream was down, who got who? how...

they are some figures, 3 wickets, 20 runs off 4 overs, that a boy trent, good catch for third too

  • Subscribers Posts: 16,617 ✭✭✭✭copacetic

heh! can't get luckier than that!

runout, thrower misses stumps, bowler backing up, hits him in chest and bounces onto stumps barely dislodging bail.
bail just drops off as batsman runs back, he had dropped his bat and had to try and get his
foot in, if he had his bat he would've been safe.

New stream as the others seem to be down, may need TVU Player to be installed.

That's a good first ten overs, Johnson was exceptional. The Bangladeshi batsmen look nervous.

they havent hit a boundary in ages!

  • Subscribers Posts: 16,617 ✭✭✭✭copacetic

hmm, maybe that could've been left to the man coming in for the easier chance?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,859 ✭✭✭glanman

they will be going for it soon, we have a serious chance to limit them to 110-130 now!
