    hello

last night I lost the head at my sister after a night out in town .. shes just turned 18 and was in the local night club and I seen her with the local scum bag / twat... I know the guy from school and hes about 5 years older than her... Anyway I lost the head at her with what she was doing.. tried to start a fight with yer man ( im not that type of person to start one but my blood just boiled. )

what I need is some advice on how to talk to her about it.... I dont want her sluting her self around town... any advice from younger sisters or even older brothers?

    cheers

    BB

She's an adult. Mind your own bloody business and stay out of it.
If she needs help, be there for her WHEN SHE ASKS.
The only "scum bag" in this story is someone trying to start fights in a club.

I am a younger sister, and I'd appreciate the protective element but be absolutely furious at how you overstepped the line. Getting enraged in a nightclub is far more embarrassing than talking to/kissing a boy you may/may not be interested in.

She is 18. She is an adult, and completely in charge of herself - you were not her chaperone at this nightclub.

Unless she's off her head on drink, all you can do is be mature, sound and frank and just tell her you think this guy is bad news. Being honest and straightforward rather than getting angry and unreasonable is more likely to get you a better response, and earn her respect.

You asked for advice in how to talk to her - be honest, but be respectful and calm. Tell her she can do what she likes as an adult, but that if she had any sense she'd take care of herself and realise what this guy is like. However, that's all you can do. Warn her, and look after her, but don't lose her trust by going off on one whenever she talks to someone you don't like.

I've 4 younger sisters- and I do see where you're coming from. I have approached one boyfriend one of my sisters had who I didn't think was good for her, privately- and suggested to him that if he didn't treat her properly that he would have to answer to me. He was a nice guy to her- and treated her well- I actually got to like the guy eventually.

You were out of line causing a scene in public to be honest- and approaching this in the manner you did- is far more likely to drive her to him, than otherwise.

You have pretty much burnt your bridges on this one- you should have a quiet chat with someone who is close to your sis who she will listen to and knows has no ulterior motives- and let them take the reigns on this from now on........

    You screwed up man......

    I'm an older brother.

You're sister is no different from any other woman on the planet. Yeah she's your family but let her live her life. Just because she was talking to someone doesn't mean she's slutting around. let her make her own decisions.

I never understood why family react like this. It's pretty bloody stupid mate if im honest.

looks like you may have done some damage to the relationship with your sister.

My advice is to approach her - apologise for what you did, explain to her that you just dont like the guy, he has a reputation and you think she could get someone better. (or maybe that she deserves someone better)

I have 3 younger sisters and as far as I'm concerned - its their own lives, they can do what they want ...if they need my help .... I'm there and they know this .

Hey bigbro, ye know I think the guys are talking sense. What can you say to her 'you were well out of order' I don't think so . Better to apologise and explain what motivated you to do it. That way she will understand that you care and were worried for her rather than what it might seem to a normal 18 year old, that you were trying to control her life. Good luck, f
