    Hi all,

As the title says I'm looking for a new bike. I would prefer it to be someone around the 400/600cc mark and have around 1300 to spend, can stretch to 1500 if its really nice.

Anyone got anything / know of anything suitable?

That would be perfect, absolutely what I'm looking for, but that ad is 49 days old :( Would be amazed if its still for sale.

Edit: its sold, says so at the bottom of the ad.

Restricted SV650 - loads of them around and very rideable despite the restriction due to the thumpy torque curve. Heres an example (not restricted) Clicky

Try to get a factory restricted bike Kami. Insurance will be WAY cheaper than with an aftermarket restrictor kit!

    Only with Aon.

Carole Nash too I believe. When I got a non-factory restricted Bandit they told me it would have been cheaper if I'd got a Factory restricted bike as these are considered a lower Insurance Group. Mind you that was 3 years ago...

thats because the after restrictors are so easy to adjust

You only looking at bikes in Ireland? You should look at bikes up North and in the UK as well... A lad off Biker.ie will collect a bike for you for quite cheap! Could be a good option...

Just got quoted €1300 for fully comp. cover on the ZX6R  Thought I would have been quoted a lot more, considering I got quoted just over €1100 for a Honda CB400.

Yeah, that is very nice, little bit over my budget though as if I spend a few hundred more on a bike its a few hundred less on gear which I don't really want.

    Yeah, he seemed dead on.

Nah it's a 4-stroke. Problem with these is that they've pretty much all been trashed at this stage...

I'd get a Bandit6 or SV650 (factory restricted if possible) if I were you. My first bike was a Bandit6. Perfect starter bike! ;)

Yea, I'd take one of those if I came across one of those in my price range.

I've been looking for an sv650 myself (restricted, green license :( ) .

If you are open to buying from UK, why not keep an eye here: http://forums.sv650.org/forumdisplay.php?f=113

    This for instance: http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=129741

PS: Apart from SV650, I am also looking for Yamaha Fazer 600 S2 (I think), they look really nice to me and much more relaxed looking to drive. If anyone knows one going, please let me know..!
