I was reading this article in last Sunday's paper. Its very concerning that these things are happening in my home town. Any thoughts? Sounds like another lenghty tribunal too me costing more taxpayers money.

You should be pleased that there is somebody willing to do something about it and not just ignore it. The Sergeant who reported it won't be liked by the people up there but as long as there are people like him in the job things can only get better for the force.

And this is now a current investigation by Garda authorities so maybe it shouldn't be discussed here? If somebody has a grievance or a complaint about their treatment in the area concerned they should make an official complaint.

+1 to everything you have said Foreign

OP we do not discuss current investigations on this forum for obvious reasons. However any completed investigations are up for discussion so for now I will close this thread
