been there in decemeber, and all i can say, weather-wise, is: don't go in december. as for locals and irish, can't say for certain as i'm originally american, but just keep in mind that the polish tend to be a slightly cooler (not to quite say colder) personality, at least insofar as meandering into someone's personal space = an inevitable conversation. that happens in ireland, but not necessarily in poland. but they're generally very kind and intelligent, even if not overtly curious at the outset. :) enjoy!

I've visited Krakow a lot. I've always found the people to be very friendly and open to engaging with tourists. Obviously there is the language barrier but again i have found them very accomodating even if they are not sure of what you are saying at times.

If you run a search in this forum you will find a lot of info on Krakow. It has been discussed many times. If you have any other questions feel free to ask! ;)
