  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,205 ✭✭✭Firekitten

    Depends which mods...

    I like to think some are,...

    Lemming is trying his best to fill the role of Frank Castle of airsoft...
    The master is trying for the guiness world records....
    they all have thier peculior little antics

    the point of this is i feel alot of mods are abusing there power im sure ill prob get a ban or thread lock for this but it has to be said a few of you are abusing ur power i wanna know how other people feel and they should be allowed to speak without the fear of a ban within reason

    Any chance of an example of this "abuse of power"?

    Because I've never seen any.

    I've not been here very long, but from what i see... the reason you are whining right now, is a fair ban...

    the guy was selling dubious items, for rediculous prices with a soap opera of confusing mixed stories ... his mate came in to defend him, probably at request, and the two of them proceeded to ignore a moderators comment that would expose the antics...

    Fair cop I think...

    My view of the staff here is good... They are fair... some, a little heavy on post deletion or topic locks, but the bans ive seen are fair.

    I think this topic is needed btw... democracy in operation, a lock, for the record, would only prove this bloke right.

    this is not what i wanted prove this and that people getting all worked up about it its a simple tread people agree r disagree but if its necessary i can put up examples

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,205 ✭✭✭Firekitten

    its not a simple matter of agreeing or disagreeing... you cant open this powder keg and just expect it to go away...

    Also, English in your psots, the occasional grammar or correct sentance form would be lovely in helping us to understand you.

    You cannot accuse without proof. Same way we (well "I" since this thread creation is I suspect as a direct consequence of this thread) as moderators should not (in my opinion) ban without due reason and application/interpretation of the forum rules.

    This is not a simple thread because you have an ulterior motive that you want to suit your own ends.

    i wasnt thinking of that thread when i was typing tis but i dont think a mod has the right to have his questions answered by demand, you think it is fair that if a mod asks you a question and you dont answer it you get banned and a thread lock, that a load of bull and what if he wasnt able to put the links up got his mate to do it for him

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,205 ✭✭✭Firekitten

    A, he responded after his friend posted the links... so he didnt need help... they also both didnt answer a innocent question from a mod... not a demand.

    the question was key to the dubious nature of the goods.... the fact they visibly ignored it, was grounds to further incriminate them.

    As for mods not having the right to ask questions...

    erm. mate, thats sort of key to being moderators... the authority busines.... you know?

    Also, Airsoftjunkie... can you please use atleast ONE item of punctuation? a full stop... a comma.... heck, even an apostraphie.... it would greatly assist us in taking you seriously.

    nnnooooo i have no motive i've clearly said some mods not all and havent named nor will name them i've voiced my opinion people dont have to commented on this matter or read the thread

    Part of the role of moderator is not only application of the rules but determining whether or not rules are being willfully violated. Given the nature of the adverts forum(s) they are moderated with zero tolerance and often very blunt questioning to ensure everything is kept honest for everyone. That "authority" thing .. y'know?

    I asked the seller a question. As FireKitten has pointed out, another poster answered with what he /assumed/ to be correct. I asked the seller specifically, not someone else who was using guess-work. Had flying squirrel not said anything, my approach to daz would have been quite different, possibly even a little more lenient. Daz proceeded to ignore the question I had asked him in the hopes it would just go away.

    As for him not being able to put up links? Puh-f*cking-lease ... if he can post on boards.ie, he can find links and post them himself.

    From my understanding a moderator is an individual whom regulates the discussion online within the forum's charter.
    If more individuals read & obeyed the charters rules, there would be no need for moderators.
    At the end of the day the forum is a privledge not a right.

    Moderators do a thankless job & yet are a neccessity to the daily smooth running of same.

    My 2 cents.

    1. how were these not fair prices
    gun=170
    scope=50
    scope rings=5
    g3 rail = 35ish cant remember exactly
    forgrip bipod=25
    altogether=285
    im selling for 170
    2. i had never evan heard of the the chap that gave the prices for the stuff so how could he be my friend so don't go talking about what you dont know
    3. i thaught that because your man answered the question that i didn't have too
    4. the other guy should not be banned for simply answering a question that is a bit harsh.

    Enough ****ing around... please use full stops, i cant read your moronic posts.

    Except you got the gun essentially free in a trade for a prize... ;)

    And 50e for that scope? you either got ripped off, or are making that up... because those tasco scopes retail at 20e max

    I will not elaborate on the nature of the ban with anyone other than those banned. If Daz can show me wrong, then I will of course rescind his ban.

    Edit: incidentally since Daz has just posted, this should really be taken to PM at this point.

    1. i never said that i paid for the gun did I.no. I simply stated that that was it's value. but i did pay 15 euro for rafel tikets and then 30 fixing it before eirsoft kindly replaced it
    2. i baught that scope from eirsoft for that price. So are you saying the good people of eirsoft are ripping people off????

    yes most mods tend to be fair, but sometimes give out harsh bans for not so bad things. i.e. a 1 month ban for not answering a question within an hour or two evan though it was already answered by another person. or getting banned for answering a question not directed at you evan though you apologized beforhand for doing so

    If you have a problem with a mod take it to the Boards Feedback forum.
