    HOLY CRAP!

I was playing my guitar and stood up with it on. The guitar fell off the strap neck first... into a 35 year old glass coffee table belonging to my parents.:eek::eek:

My laptop was also on the table.

The guitar is okay except for a little chip off the corner of the headstock but I'm gonna try repair it. The table is not ok. :(

The glass shattered. It's gonna be pricey to replace I think. :(:(:(

Aaagh, strap locks people. Why don't you get them straight away?!

That's really sh!t man, hope it doesn't cost to much to fix.
What's the guitar like? Is the chip bad? It could add character if its not to bad.

Yeah, well I had straplocks for it but I was afraid to put them on because it'd involve drilled a deeper hole into the neck heel. It's not that thick of a guitar so I was scared that I'd go thru or something.... stupid I know!!

Here's a pic from my phone.

Sorry to hear about that dude. Hopefully that chip came off in one nice big piece making it easy enough to fix.

You should see my franken-strat, its got nicks bloody everywhere and it still looks amazing.
I remember the first one though, i bloody freaked.

I need to give that guitar a good doing over one of these days, the strings are a little to raised for my licking and i want to block off the bridge.

    Sorry, rambling here.
Hope you can get it fixed man.

The damage isn't a big deal, I'll probably leave it. It was just the shock from the fall, noise and glass everywhere.

I'm surprised the neck didn't snap. Shows how hardy this lil fecker is. :D

Glad to hear that there was no major damage to the guitar, but I'd say you are not flavour of the month regarding that table. ;)

I was on the back of my friends motorbike before and as we went over a ramp i suddenly felt lighter, looked behind me and my les paul was lying flat on the middle of the road!!!

My guitar cases strap had snapped!!

AMAZINGLY the neck was still in one piece, there was just a chip or two and a tuner smashed right off and the treble/rhythm swich snapped!

    It's not a "ding" or a "nick", it's a battle scar :p

It was only the glass bit of the table that smashed, right? Not that big a deal? how's the laptop?

It could have came out a lot worse considering that the headstock took a bang. As long as guitar is intact that's the main thing.

i'm gonna try fix it, otherwise it'll bug me.

Yeah, the glass smashed.... 1/4inch thick glass!
The laptop is fine, it has a built in rollcage and anti-shock system for the harddrive. :)

One of my Berlin Pros came "pre-supplied" with a similar chip to the headstock. It doesn't bother me at all, but of course if I had done it (or someone had done it to my guitar) I think I'd be heartbroken.

    D.

    Yes.

    Denting guitars really distresses me.

But when I think of Gibsons dropping from their strap, the first thing I see is a snapped headstock so I think I could settle for a little chip like that. Let it be a lesson to us all.

    Whew!

Just got a quote today for the replacement glass... and I can rest easy now. It'll only cost €100 delivered, and thats for toughened glass which is actually better than what was in it. There's only a 20quid difference between the toughened and non-toughened.

Also, I started work on fixing the headstock chip. It looks better already, should be sorted in a day or two. Gotta take my time and drop fill it. :)
