    Heya,

I'm gettin married in less than 7 weeks....and I have been researching what to get my groom as a wedding present! I have come up with hardly nothing, as he has everything!! I thought maybe a camcorder (he enjoys toys for boys) but I'm not sure....as I know we will both use it on our honeymoon.....I'd like to get him something 'wow' as he is so good to me.....Has anyone got any cool ideas?? HELP....time's running out!!!

We actually didnt get each other anything believe it or not.

I wrote a little note to my hubbie and gave it to the best man who handed it to him in the morning, just a little note to remind him why I was marrying him. I think that meant more than any present could have.

I know it sounds a little mad but some people get a 'boudoir' picture taken.

A family diary (leather bound) with the first pages written from your hand, relating the begining of your relationship, and lots of white pages for you two to write together... what a symbol!

Or/and: A luxurious italian leather travel set that he can use & keep for many years to come, starting with the honeymoon and everytime your will go on holiday together... Mariage is a long haul voyage, isnt' it?

Buy him a voucher for a day racing at mondello. Something different and exhilarating!

You don't need to get him a present. Keep it real

Thanks for all of your lovely ideas......I especially like the idea of writing to him and giving it to his bestman to deliver the morning of the wedding!!We're together a long time, so I've done the Mondello Park present! I made him a photo book when we got engaged. It included photos, comments, dates of various things we had done together!....It started from the beginning of our relationship (photos even I had forgotten about)....alot of time and thought went into that present so I kinda want to do the same with the wedding present....I'm thinking sentimental.....

I've got to agree there. It seems as if weddings today have got so out of hand that you have to get a significant present for the 3rd assistant dove trainer etc. **** lads, we're Irish, it is far from this we were reared. Sorry if any offence caused

I got an early father's day present this weekend which I think I'll treasure for the rest of my life - a Dovo Solingen horn handled straight razor (cut-throat) and a shaving set comprising of good shaving soap & a brush. :)

They're a lot more expensive a gift than one might initially think but a good one, treated carefully can last longer than a lifetime - and if you're to go with smellthegloves suggestion of a letter - could be something you could tell him he could teach your future son to shave with?

Nobody like toys for boys as much as I do but I'd think twice again about a camcorder or other technology for a wedding present. Even if you buy top of the range, in 3 or 4 years it'll be gathering dust as he eyes the latest models...

If it was me, I'd appreciate a good pen or a real watch (maybe with an inscription).... By real I mean a watch that will last a life time (and beyond) and be serviced rather than dumped if it breaks down.

Ya,thats what I was thinking about the camcorder! Thanks, needed a guys opinion on it!! We got a set of really good matching watches as engagement pressies, so that ideas kinda out! Thanks a mil tho, knew I was right on the camcorder thing. Others were telling me to go with it...

I can be superstitous and a wedding is meant to be timeless so I'd stay away from a watch myself, but it is a nice idea if you are not superstitious.

If you do the letter tell the best man to take care of it after he reads it, my hubbie left his in the room and the hotel staff were to transfer his things from that room to the bridal suite, the letter was lost in transit, at least its something he will never forget though!

wouldn't the stuff you record together be more important than the camcorder anyway.

How about personalized cotton or silk boxers personalized with your
name or any special message you wish.

Is this the norm that the bride and groom get each other presents?
