just noticed my new boyfriend of a few months has my name in his phone as my place of work (eg. shop, pub, etc-don't want to go into detail but it was the general type of place that i work that was in there).not his usual phone but an extra spare phone i had and gave him so he could dial that other network for free.his normal phone he always had from when i met him has always and still has my actual name in it.

obviously everyone, including myself, is suspicious. Asked him about it and just excuses.

Is there any other reason, apart from the obvious, that other name would be in AT ALL or should i just get rid??????????????? Is there any other possible reason for this?????

ps. didn't go looking-i'm not like that-i was there with him when my old missed call came up on screen.

Do you mean he has the number for your place of work called you place of work? That way if you phone him from work, he know you are phoning from work and will have an appropriate conversation?

or could it be that the number was stored in the phone when you originally gave it to him and he didnt bother changing it?

i think what OP means is shes in his phone as Restaurant Girl or some such, i do this all the time, very rarely will i have 2 peole of the same name in the phonebook because i usually use alias' when this happens, no mater who they are!

I really think you're reading into this a bit much....

it depends on how he responded when you asked him why you're not down as "Mary Smith" or whatever in his other phone. If it was a worst case scenario and he was cheating, I don't see any point in changing your name in his phone, I've lots of guys names in my phone book but that doesn't mean I have or ever will go out with any of them, so to a girl who doesn't know you your name in his phone wouldn't mean anything. Second, why would he be with someone who's going to go through his phone (this is in reference to the possible other woman, if he purposely changed your name then we're presuming it's to keep it away from her) and finally, if I saw "Restaurant Girl" calling on my boyfriend's phone I'd be a lot more suspicious than if I saw "Mary Smith", because giving you an alias implies that he doesn't yet know your name, like i had "Chip shop boy" in my phone for a while after drunkenly giving my number to someone so until we'd been on a few dates I just left him as chip shop boy (classy i know).

Basically I'm trying to say I don't think there's anything to worry about.

Maybe it's from when you were first going out and he didn't remember your name.

    +1

i also think the op could be upset becuase she wasn't in the phone as honey bunch or something lovey doveyish

i aslo think op that you are reading way too much in to this

He's the one who can help you with the name in his(/your) phone, why not ask him instead of everyone else in the world?

If you'd prefer to be all paranoid and dramatic with him then that's your choice but your not doing him any favours.

If you want to be with him - stay, if not - leave, but talk to him.
