What if there are 2 Gods

Just to follow on from Heaven and Hell discussions and if God was proven on the A&A.

What if there was complete 100% proof found that proved 2 gods exist together.

1 god is a joker. he said the major religions were all lies and a test to prove that people would follow false gods willingly to the death.

The other god is the OT guy, a raging pyscho, petty, killing everything that offends him.

How would it affect your belief.

You'd be forgiven that there are two separate Gods if you compare the jealous, spiteful God of the OT with the all-loving God of the NT.

I've yet to meet any Christian who can make a reasonable case for reconciling the God two deities as found in the Bible.

What's the point of this thread?

Doesn't one of the first two commandments say "thou shall have no other gods before me"? Does this imply the existence of other gods?

To some people, yes. I'll probably get jumped on for saying that, though.

Some people, I think, translate (and most understand) that commandment as 'thou shalt have no false gods before me'.

Ah he was just young and tempermental and getting used to this power lark, before he grew older and chilled out a bit :D

There are a few other gods mentioned by name in the old testament, hence the need for the first commandment.

Monotheism, like the notion of the trinity, the holy spirit, hell, eternal damnation and much else besides, are things that really only appear for the first time in the new testamant.

Yes robin, other gods are mentioned. However there is nothing to suggest that they were considered to be real Gods.

Anyway, I can't actually see the point of this thread. I'm locking it to keep the peace.
