Anyone know if running a 9.6v bat in an AA L85 will do any damage

It wont do any damage immediately, it will just wear the internals faster.

i'm doing this for a few months now and have had no problems except for fitting the batt its self i used an 1800 mah 9.6v large type but had to remove 2 of the cells at the bottom and extend them with a bit of wire and a soldering iron so it would fit into the handgaurd of the aeg. but you may be able to fit a 9.6v mini type in with no problems.

one other thing i would recomend that you disable the blowback type action by removeing the small spring and metal catch that sits on top of the piston as this can come lose with the higher rof and fall into the gearbox and cause problems.

the gearbox itself can handle the higher rof as it comes with brass bushings as standerd

    hope this helps

Cheers for the feedback man, yeah i've already disabled the blowback cause from what i've heard it'll break running an 8.4 for a prolonged period of time. Was going to go with a mini, and stick some foam or something in the handguard to stop it rattling around
