Problem with pictures on kodac camera

I was told from the original thread that I might get more replies here so I thought id give the same question here.

Ok, I have a Kodac Easy Share C743 camera, with a 1gig silver hi tech memory card. So the thing is, when i take a picture with it, I can view it fine in the camera, like on the LCD.

When I plug in my camera, the thumbnails are fine when I view them, but when I double click them to view them full size, there's always like squares or lines of grey distortion, like the images seem corrupted, yet they look fine when viewing them on the camera and in the thumbnails.

I'm using vista on a dell inspiron 531 if that matters, its really annoying as there's some valuable pictures on the card.

I cant open them with a different viewer without copying them to the PC hard drive, which then causes it to corrupt. Its the same also on a laptop with XP. Heres what happens the picture, just a random picture I took, I had to go through pain with it as it got an error when uploading, but you get the idea. The grey matter on it is completely random for each picture. Could the memory card be broken?
Heres what the pictures turn out like: https://us.v-cdn.net/6034073/uploads/attachments/92491/81649.jpg

    Thanks.

Not sure what's causing it put I'd try using a card reader to take the pictures from the card to the PC rather than using a cable connected to the camera and see if it solves the problem.

No ive tried the card rader on my dell and the same problem happens. I am thinking the card is damaged so I am, as the problem is the same on XP on another laptop, but when I use the internal memory of the camera, which is like 20mb to take pictures, they problem doesn't happen, the pictures come out fine. I have tried about 6 pictures so I hope that is it. Are those 2gb SD cards on like dealextreme.com worth buying or would there be a high risk of them ****ing up too?

ah sounds like the card so; one off the wall thing you might try is put the card into the reader, open up "My Computer" right click on the card and select properties, tool and then "error checking". There's an option to automatically fix disk errors there. This is all in XP by the way it might be in slightly different places in Vista.

Dealextreme has cards from big names stick to these and you'll be grand
