    Hi, just wondering do you get oral antihistamines over-the-counter or do you need a prescription?

    for the likes of Clarytin and Zirteck they can be gotten over the counter.

    Just ask your local pharmacist what you can get over the counter. Piriton is available as well as Zirtek and Clarityn.

    So far this year I've tried clarityn, zirtek and a few nasal sprays...But only in the last two week have I come across piriton...It is a wonder-drug! (well for me anyway). Totally helped, It's available otc. However, this one makes you a little drosy not like clarityn or zirtek...

    :D Years ago on holiday in Barbados I was given Piriton by a holiday rep for mosquito bites, I fell asleep for 48 hours!

    That was useful information, I googled "Over the counter antihistamines" and was led to this thread - thank you!
