Metal fabricator

The lock under my seat was busted open a few weeks back and a helmet stolen from the under seat storage on my moped.

Im looking to get the plastic piece that holds the bar that the lock connects to replaced with a metal piece instead, can anyone recommend a metal fabricator or bike workshop who could do a once off job?

It should be less than an hours work, as its almost a perfectly flat sheet to be cut and a small bar welded across one of the openings.

Anyone any recommendations for anyone in Dublin?

    Thanks,
    Tox

I'd imagine any mechanic be able to make that for you, doesn't sound like a big job.

I agree with KamiKazi, worth mentioning to the fabricator is to disconnect the battery while welding the moped in order to prevent any damage to the electricalk system. Welding with disconnecting the battery could take out the charging system.

Leo O'Reilly (mo'bike shop) on Dorset St has all the gear to fabricate bits and pieces - give him a try.

Cheers for that.. its only a small piece that fits under the seat and no actual welding when on the bike, I'll just bolt it in place like the plastic equivalent.

This is the part, the lock plate, I'm looking to replace with a metal equivalent. Nothing too complicated (I hope!!).

    Attachment not found.
