This promises to be an amazing show. The set list for their current US/Canada tour is any Mac fans dream!

Monday Morning, The Chain, Dreams, I Know I'm Not Wrong, Gypsy, Go Insane, Rhiannon, Second Hand News, Tusk, Sara, Big Love, Landslide, Never Going Back Again, Storms, Say You Love Me, Gold Dust Woman, Oh Well, I'm So Afraid, Stand Back, Go Your Own Way, World Turning, Don't Stop, Silver Springs.

I'm a bit confused about the pricing however - the promoter lists the ticket prices as "from €86.50" but on the Ticketmaster site it's listed as a fully-seated concert with tickets from "€106.25 - €126.50".

Me & my wallet were really hoping there'd be a standing section

Excellent, now if only the tickets were cheaper!

I emailed the promoter to enquire about the difference in pricing information so will post any response I get (if any!)

I'd say the usual Thursday evening/Friday morning Ticketmaster Alert email newsletter will clarify all though.

Tickets for all other UK dates go on sale tomorrow morning.

Any more info would be great

For the O2 the expensive tics are usually flat seating and the first few rows of the tiered seating.

The cheaper ones are further back on the tiered seating.

Set looks good....Everywhere,Albatros, Little Lies and Dreams the only ones I'd miss!

Can't do Christine McVie without Christine McVie! :D:D:D:D:D

And eh, can't do Peter Green cos eh.. he's boring.

Why would Lindsey Buckingham want to bother with someone elses guitar line anyway.. 'cept Oh Well, of course.:p

As a die hard and long term fan, I'd say.. no. No it isn't. Where is Sisters Of The Moon? Where is Beautiful Child? Where is Seven Wonders?

And don't even get me started on the ones Lindsey doesn't get to belt out. :(:(:(

why when Harry Crosbie (the owner of the Point) says that the artist sets the ticket price not the promoter that the cheapest ticket for the Fleetwood Mac show in October is 86 quid ... while the Manchester gig, the dearest ticket is 86 quid .....(their cheapest been 52 quid). Are we to belive that Fleetwood Mac themselves want to charge 30 quid extra to the Irish ? do they f**k !

    Rip off Ireland indeed.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 55 ✭✭ByrdsFan

I must admit I was shocked when I saw those ticket prices aswell. Dont know if ill be able to afford this. But yet another example of horrendously overpriced tickets.

There is that Last Word interview where is claimed that the cost on insurance for Beyonce in the Point was something like €13k per night compared to just €800 in Belfast. That might make up the difference somewhat.
Peter Aiken from Aiken Promotions said his insurance for a show in the 02 in Dublin would be €16,000 - around one euro per punter. The insurance bill for a similary sized show in Belfast’s Odyssey was £265

Bollix to that. The promoter runs the whole show, he books the artists, brings them over, pays for the advertising and everything else associated with the show so therefore the promoter sets the price. Harry Crosbie is talking through his hole when he says the artist sets the price of the ticket.

Unless he refers to how much the artist charges for the concert which trickles down via tickets sales to the concert-goer, then he has a point. As for exact prices for each ticket, the artist has no control over that.

Back to that age old argument of "Irish ticket prices are much dearer than English ticket prices". You are forgetting that there are 50 million people in the UK and only 5 million over here. Our largest venue (excluding stadium venues) fits 14,000 people and we only have one. The average large venue in the UK fits as much as that(if not more) and they have a HUGE target market to deal with. Shipping costs for gear to the UK only need to be paid once and then its a matter of moving around by truck whereas the same applies to Ireland with only one venue to play in.

This really should be made a sticky to stop everyone moaning about it!

Yep, i heard an advert on 98fm today advertising the Fleetwood Mac gig...86 euro would be the 'cheapest' ticket, allright.

I love Fleetwood Mac, but am i going to pay basically an downright disgraceful, rip-off price for a ticket? No, i'm not.

I feel sorry for Irish Fleetwood Mac fans, who may have lost their jobs, etc...trying to go to this gig. They can well and truely rule themselves out going to this gig....in fact, those of us who are fortunate to be working..wouldn't even part with that amount of money to see them.

I love Fleetwood Mac, but i'm not paying mega-inflated prices to go see them. No way, with the way things are at the moment.

It's a disgrace to have the gall to ask people to pay that price for a ticket, in my opinion.

I'm guessing the higher priced tickets are E100+....rip-off.

I just love it when they play "Tusk," especially with USC's Spirit of Troy.

f**kin rip-off, seen them when they played here last time and they were great, but didn't like the way they were lookin for fans to splash out $80 membership just to get presale tickets!! Pure greed!!

Yeah we're getting shafted. Nothing new though. Apparently the presale seats were rubbish so hopefully I'll still be able to get some decent seats in the morning

In a bizarre tactic that I have never seen before, MCD are now implying that the second Fleetwood Mac gig, which went on sale the same day as the first show, i.e. nearly three months ago, is a newly-added concert.

From the MCD site: "Fleetwood Mac have confirmed an extra concert date at The 02, Dublin on Sunday 25 October. Tickets for the extra date will go on sale this Friday 04 September at 9.00am. The band will now play two concert dates on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 October".

Hot Press have jumped on the bandwagon and reported it as if it was a new announcement as well.

It's cynicism and - technically - false advertising of the worst kind. Both shows went on sale in mid-June, and now they're dressing up the Sunday night show like a new announcement just to drum up a morning's worth of good business when naive people are conned into panic buying at 9:00 on Friday morning, unaware that it's been on sale for ages.

You bet, I'll be there with the other greybeards. Absolutely can't wait for this. Stevie Nicks is my all-time favourite female vocalist (close run thing with Carol Decker).

I cant wait for the gig. Just wish I had closer seats. I think lindsey is playing the old poppy/fast version of Go Insane. Was gutted when I heard that. The Dance version is one of my favourites ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nRf-nHH_63g ). Great setlist though

Well, how was it for you?

That was honestly one of the greatest gigs l've ever seen and l've been going to gigs for nearly 30 years!

Absolutely fantastic, Lindsey is one hell of a guitarist!

Great songs, great musicianship, great rapport between band and audience.

Wow, wish l could afford to go again tomorrow night!

Lindsey stole the show without a doubt. Amazing!! Really was an unbelievable gig. Was thinking the exact same thing on the way home.... wish the tickets were cheaper so I could go again :(

Great night and a great gig. As I said on the first page of the thread Lindsey Buckingham is one of the greatest live performers ever, he puts so much into the show every night. He is never mentioned when it comes to great guitarists but will always be on my list. I remember watching him being interviewed by Dave Fanning a few years back and Fanning asked him did he have more freedom in the band since Christine left and he said yes, well I think last night proved that. As form that bundle of energy on the drums Mick Fleetwood I could do with some of his energy. Fans tonight are in for a real treat.
