Good stuff though i bought a us one today and had to remove CFW from psp as it requires 5.5 apparently.

Really sucks your psp can only be linked to one account at a time.

Excellent but over rated. Give us Suikoden 2! :) Doubt I'll buy this again, aldready have my beautiful PAL copy, although I wouldn't mind the US version so I wouldn't have to suffer borders and crappy 50Hz.

Its $10 on US so i say €8.99 EU as most psone games that are €4.99 are $5.99 on US store.

Is it just me or does anyone else find it weird no one else (cvg, eg etc) is reporting this as being out tomorrow on the euro psn?

Eurogamer are usually ridiculously slow with updates and nobody else cares about europe :(

I implore anyone that wants to download this game that has the means to do it to get a US PSN card and get the US version. The PAL version is an abomination of a conversion.

Whats different bar the 50hz-60hz difference

Just had a mad thought. Ive got a FFVII save file on my PS3 but i havnt been able to do much since I cant find my disc 3
Would this work with the download? (please please please please)

That is the difference, but a massive one. The game runs much slower than the NTSC version, it's like it's running in treacle world. Also there's big dirty black borders on the top and bottom of the screen that create a squashed smaller image that is going to look even more horrendous on todays widescreen TVs. The music is also ruined since it runs 16.5% slower and video output is pretty poor due to the bad 60-50 Hz conversion.

might get this off the us store to see what al the fuss is about, never played it before.

Christ, maybe I will look into these PSN cards then. Need a new US account too, can't remember the password for my original one and used a fake BOD.

Didn't you say a while back this wouldn't get released becasue of licencing issues? Did all that get sorted or what?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 255 ✭✭ianflynn

already have it in ps1 disc format :)
    (I have backwards compatibility)
but if its better as a download i may invest...
if they bring out 8 too i'll be happy :D

You should be able to get those cards on ebay with little overhead. They usually send out the code when you pay with paypal so will get them in 24hrs from most buyers.

As for the licensing issues, I guess they did get them sorted out. I think EA and SCEE just couldn't resist a bite of the pie from probably the most wanted PS1 classic on PSN :) Hope this paves the way for more square games.

Yes indeed you can, even saves made on CFW PSPs work on the PS3 and OFW PSPs :)

Hmm, might be tempted to actually buy the US version myself since I've only got the crappy PAL version.

So, basically, the US version will be both cheaper, and better!

I'd better sort out a US PSN account! :)

You CANNOT use an Irish credit card. You do need a US PSN card.

Thats a joke. Only reason i wouldn't import one is delivery costs, customs and having to deal with couriers saying my address doesn't exist

Entropay works on the US store. So you don't necessarily need a US credit card or PSN card.

(Entropay does charge commission though..but still).

I just topped up by 20.Cost me 20.99 but the game saving are worth it :D

Doesn't entropay ask a lot of questions that could easily be used for fraud?

EDIT: its just a passport number needed. God damnit! its so much cheaper then ebay

Just changed the city in my address to New and put in a New York zip code and it works. Doesn't work with some cards though, as far as I know mastercards don't work.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 936 ✭✭✭Tommy_NDX

You have to put in your proper billing address or it says invalid credit card. And if your already using a us address you cant change all of it

Yes but if you're lucky they only clarify the first line or two of your address, all I do is change the city. I'm pretty sure it works, because, well, it works. I've used two different credit cards on the US Playstation Store.

Entropay doesn't work anymore. The Entropay cards don't have an address associated with them and the PSN won't accept a card if it can't verify an address. I tried it and it was declined every time.

My new one worked last night. Did you have the credit card name as ENTROPAY USER?

Absolutely, for a while there I thought I was the only one in the world who played that game. Now I know there were at least two of us.

VII is well worth it if you have never played it before. We'll know if many people are playing it for the first time if we see a thread along the lines of "What the f**k is that red thing in the desert near the Gold Saucer and how do I kill it?"

I'm looking forward to playing it again, have put a couple of hours in already. Played it when it first came out but for some reason stopped about half an hour away from the last boss battle and never went back to it. A fact that a FFVII obsessed buddy keeps berating me about, so it'll be good to finally get that monkey off my back!

...yes my buddy is a monkey.

    Racist! Racist!!!

Played it for an hour last night. My brother has the copy we had from years ago so I haven't played it in ages. Loving it so far. Now just have to wait for MGS and I will be a happy man.

Lol I hit submit I thought "Oh sh*t I hope that doesn't come across as a racial slur,"

No it's true, it's a real monkey, I met him while I was flinging my poo at people in the park and found out we had a lot in common.

I downloaded the US Version on Tuesday, seems to play grand, but I literally haven't played FFVII since it first came out so I really can't remember what load times etc. were like. I remember thinking the graphics were amazing, and now the graphics look like garbage! Though they were mighty impressive for their time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,724 ✭✭✭✭noodler

To be expected I guess. I was just wondering how noticeable the difference between the us and eu versions are.

Sony really should just release the NTSC versions on the Euro PSN store.
