Matt Cooper didn't ask him about his history of getting sued for libel, or his attempt to clear a notorious serial killer.

OK - so what was he talking about? More information needed in the OP!

He had at most 3 minutes saying he was better placed than George Lee, Alex White, or Shay Brennan to represent his constituency. He backed this up by stating the fact he was a business man rather than an academic (Lee), a barrister (White), or a banker (Brennan). He briefly mentioned his main policy removing planners.

He has been trying to get Peter Sutcliffe exhonerated from most of his crimes and he was successfully sued for libel over accusations he made against police officers connected to this.

I've never understood why that cretin is given so much air-time. There are plenty of election no-hopers out there who aren't mad and have have genuinely altruistic motives for entering politics, but are completely ignored. It seems there's one set of rules for those who turn Georgian squares into car parks, charge ground rent for properties that they don't own and campaign for the exoneration of notorious murderers, and another for everyone else. :pac:

Also, he opposes planners because they won't let him do things like turn small city parks into car parks - or, his latest, trying to build a large house in Dartmouth Square via a planning loophole. He also likes to try and drum up money through 'ground rents' (see here for example). He's also keen to concrete over the canals and the Liffey and use the space for motorways.

He's like some kind of seeping cloacal distillation of all the worst parts of the Irish psyche.

    cordially,

Indeed. Much like that old Hammer where Peter Cushing accidentally unleashes concentrated Evil, somebody has evidently set loose concentrated Philistine Paddy Property Developer.....

I can see it now....the possessed Councillors, hands gripped in a circle around a badly planned pentacle, chanting "rezone...rezone" in a monotonous drone...the air thickening, curdling...drips of green ink and a fecal stench...

    anyway,
