    Hi,

I am working in Australia now and paying A LOT of tax. I know I get some back but I am not sure what % I will get back

Would anyone be able to tell me how much I will get back of a tax balance of $7000 in June 2009

    Regards,
    Fergal.

You have given too little information to answer that question. Check out the ATO's website they should give you details of what your tax rate is etc

If I was you I would post this in the NewZealand/Australia forum under Region, boardies there might be able to point you in the right direction also.

    Can someone help me.

I started a new job in Melbourne 2 weeks ago and just recieved my 1st payslip today.
I'm paying a lot more tax than I did in Perth even though earning slightly less. I think I ticked the wrong box on the tax form my employers gave me about tax threshold. Basically I've no tax free allowance now and if I ticked the right box I would have.

Does anyone know if I can call up the tax office and change this.

    Thank you.
