    My boyfriend and I are going to a wedding in Bled, Slovenia at the end of August and we have decided to make it our summer holiday. We're flying into Venice and making our way to Bled.
    Has anyone any recommendations on a good area/hotel to stay in Venice and the best way to get to Bled taking in as much as possible of Slovenia. Would car hire be expensive seen as we intend on going from one country to the other? We have 4 nights before we meet up with the wedding party in Bled.:confused:

    Hello blog,

    I had a holiday in Slovenia a few years ago. I flew into Ljubljana and travelled to Bled and travelled up to the mountains from there. Then went to the coast and got a ferry from Piran to Venice. So did the opposite of what you are doing. I did not stay in Venice so cant help with hotels etc.

    You could take this ferry from Venice to Piran or you could drive north from Venice through Trieste and get to Slovenia that way. Slovenia is one of nicest places I have visited - a beautiful country.
