I dont know if im in the right place so if not i apologise!!

Im just back from trying to help out a mate in one of the long term car parks at dublin airport. bascially he parked his car there on sunday afternoon returned this evening after his trip to find his car battery dead and his car would not start. not a sinner around to ask for a push so he walked about 5 minutes through the car park to the security guy at the entrance to ask him if he would mind giving him a push. the guy told him no that he could not leave his hut(fair enough he has a job to do!!!).

anyway he rang my other half and drove out to him to help him out. we got to the security gate and told him where we were going and the same guy who refused to help push no tells us that he has jump leads but that he would not give them to us!he let us in anyway but we could not get the car started so were going to leave it and get some jump leads from somewhere.on the way out of the car park he charged us for half an hour of parking!!!!
we told him what we were going to do and he told us the only thing he could do for us would be call a tow truck which would cost 30e!!! of course we said no thaks and just got another mate to come with leads and eventually got the car going.

sorry for the really long post but im kind of pi$#ed off if he had just given a hand when he was asked we could have avoided all the drama!!!anyone else see my point of am i just overreacting!!!!

I wouldnt be really bothered about paying for the half hour to be honest. Why didnt he give ya the jump leads?

he wouldnt say just kept saying he had them but he couldnt give us a lend of them!!

we did pay it wasnt much but in all fairness he knew why we were going in as our friend had already been up to him to ask for his help. i just think he could have just raised the barrier for us i mean we were only there to help someone who had already paid for 3 days parking!!we didnt leave the car and actually park there!!!

Fact of the matter is, he raises the barrier, it's recorded. A car passes, and there's no payment, then his supervisors are gonna want to know why.

Parking is tough sh*t. it happens.

dont get me wrong we paid the guy didnt question him just thought it was a bit rough.
anyway my main gripe was that he refused to help and actually told us he had jump leads but wouldnt give us them. i dont see what the problem there would have been!!!

Really not a travel matter. Consumer issues or rant perhaps?
