Question about Ryanair

I booked a return flight to Stansted from Cork for 2 weeks time. I now realise that the outward flight is too late so i need to book a new one way flight from Cork to Stansted, leaving earlier than the original flight that i booked. I still plan to use the original return flight. I'm just wondering because i'm not using the original outward flight, will i be able to use the original return flight? Hope that makes sense.

    Cheers

yes you can. there is no connection between the outgoing and return flights - assuming you havent cancelled the flight you intend on using

Thanks for getting back to me. No, i haven't canceled the outgoing flight. I'm just going booking a completely new one and hoping to use the original return flight. I posted this question on a different forum earlier and the response was:

"No, you will not be able to use the return if you don't use the outbound. Ordinarily with a regular airline you can rinf them up and they can keep you original booking "live" for the return.......best of look with contacting FR about the same."

If anyone could confirm if Ihaveanopinion is correct i would appreciate it. It's just both flights are under the same booking ref.

Whoever posted that was talking out of the anal passage..

Most airlines don't allow you to skip the first leg and use the return. Ryanair, however, do.

Buffybot, while I do talk frequently from my anus.... it is a knowledgable anus.

You can use or not use any leg of any flight without any consequence on the rest. To say otherwise is anus from space talk!

I think he was referring to the quote in the other post :)

Ryanairs booking system treats every flight as a seperate booking and it will make no difference at all if you turn up for one leg or not. Just becasue you have the same ref number for two flights makes no difference.

The other forum was correct that that policy does not apply for any other airline though, so don't forget and try the same with some other carrier.

You can do it with Aer Lingus, too.

You can do it with Aer Lingus, too.

On all their routes, or just the ones that are in competition with Ryanair in the EU?

I don't know about transatlantic, and I admit that I was not thinking of that dimension of their business.

In Europe (not just the EU, and not just on routes where they compete with Ryanair) Aer Lingus do not sell return tickets. You can make it a return in your own head, but AL sell you a ticket from A to B and a separate ticket from B to A.

I just checked with Ryanair and it's ok to use the return flight even though we are not using the outward flight. Thanks for your replies
