I'm a student member at my golf club with a handicap of 17. I am unable to play in any adult competitions at my club because i'm not an adult member. Non-adult members with a handicap of 14 or better are allowed to play in competitions. I'm basically stuck in limbo as i cant play in any competitions and therfore it's impossible for me to lower my handicap.

What i'm asking here is : Can i play in open events at other golf clubs?

    I'm 24 by the way

You would be considered a junior member and at alot of clubs would be deemed ineligible to win win major prizes at alot of clubs (monthly medals etc.) unless you have a handicap of 10 or lower.

However you still should be eligible to play and enter other singles competitins at your home club aswell as open competions elsewhere.
