Animal sanctuary/rescue/pound websites

Apart from dogs in distress, collon sanctuary and Dogs Life/Last Hope in Meath websites are there any other ones where you can see dogs up for rehoming? I know there's a lot of rescues and sanctuaries all over the country but very few seem to have websites. If anyone knows of anymore would love to see some links, thanks!

I'm hoping to have mine up and running fairly soon. EGAR has a website I'm sure, and Puppy Rescue do I think, Limerick Animal Welfare, there are a fair few. The best place I think to see dogs and cats up for rehoming is www.irishanimals.ie, they have a section showing the animals that need rehoming, and its split into counties and also into some breeds.

It is almost entirely comprised of volunteers who donate their time and also kept going by fundraising efforts.
Also they are actively involved in campaigning for animal rights.

I'm not sure why you have Dogs Life/Last Hope in together. They are two different rescue groups working with two different pounds. http://www.adogslife.ie/ is just being put together but hopefully should have alot more work done on it in the next few weeks.

Does anyone know anything about the "Animal Rescue Ireland" crowd who feature in a lot of the adoption ads on irishanimals.ie? We're fostering an unneutered 8 year old rotty for them and they're bring the dog to us tomorrow. They phoned us last week to see if we could do it and I'm just a bit surprised as they didn't ask to do a check on our house beforehand and I don't think they even had the dog themselves at that state as they didn't seem to know too much about it, so don't know if they've done an assessment on the dog. Just a bit concerned as it seems very informal / unprofessional.

I for one would not be happy to take a dog (and a restricted breed at that) from a rescue who never even bothered to do a homecheck or can't provide any details on the dog.

That's ridiculous, good fosterers are like gold dust and should be treated like so. If you're interested in fostering for some rescues that'll appreciate you then just pm me and I'll give you some names.
