I use it to create journeys, that's all. I know someone who uses it to schedule workouts. He likes it.

i tend to use it to look at the gradient profiles of rides cos its better than nokia sporttracker (which i use for recording rides ) which i use for my general ride recording ( cos its on the phone anyway)

I'm using it and find it good but then again I haven't tried anything else.

I didn't become a member I just log rides, I plan to get a Garmin Edge 705 so I might change to something else after.

Actually I think I'll start yet another Garmin Edge thread:D

I'm using bikeroutetoaster.com seems much easier to use.

I haven't tried MapMyRide but I use Gmaps Pedometer to mark out my ride afterwards (I like to head off with a planned outgoing route and then decide on the ride which way to come back).

It's easy to mark out the route, the advertising is fairly unobtrusive and it can also calculate and display the elevation of the ride. There's no login to keep track of progress but I just save the URL and bookmark it in my browser.

On the topic is there any good app for the iphone that will do this sort of job or is using map my ride the best option?

bikeroutetoaster wins hands down for ease of use, but you can't log workouts with it. But mapmyride is so cumbersome to use that I just started logging using a Google spreadsheet.
