I'd be more interested if they announced it would have 2097 tracks in it.

new modes look excellent. I can see zone battle becoming a griefing ground though :(

    Fantastic news.

Amazing the stuff they've announced in the last 7 days outside of the conference itself. Hopefully they're lining up something massive at the conference itself, especially their keynote event!

They keep blowing me away with the support for this game. Its nearly Bungie standards !

    I'd just like another 5 or 6.

This was announced at E3 but no one seemed to give a toss. It was playable and a few of the heads from wipeoutzone seem to have already had a go.

Its online community isn't enormous but its got quite a nice group of hardcore phantom/rapier people who've been playing since day 1.

As far as the 2097 tracks go, i'd imagine its in the pipeline but only if the support is there for dlc and the game itself. Considering the sales of HD, there was no guarantee of any dlc.

    Where the sales bad?

Considering the quality of the game and the fact that it was only €17 that is a disappointment.

    "Hi,

    To confirm the tracks in the pack; you will be able to play are;

    Modesto Heights forward,
    Modesto Heights reverse,
    Tech De Ra forwards,
    Tech De Ra reverse,
    The Amphiseum forward,
    The Amphiseum reverse,
    Talon's Juction forward,
    Talon's Junction reverse.

    Plus the below Zone (also playable in Zone Battle and Detonator) tracks playable forwards only;

    Mallavol,
    Syncopia,
    Corridon 12,
    Pro Tozo.

Tony also forgot to mention that there will be a new single player Fury Campaign too, which includes events using the three new modes.

    Paul."

I turned this on last night for the first time in a while. Had to download another update. It is great to see the amount of support that the game is getting.

It would have probably been more suited to a physical release, as it didn't sell as well as it was expected to. The learning curve and relative difficulty seemed to turn some away.

The latest update is up on PSN now, bringing the game up to version 2.0 in anticipation of the Fury Expansion.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,682 ✭✭✭LookingFor

    Fury is eye-bleedingly good

Detonator mode is audiovisual overload. Truly amazing.

    Modesto Heights is wonderful.

This is simply porn for the eyeballs. I did notice that it wiped out all gold medals I had already achieved on the HD part of the game. No worry as I can play it all again.

I can sign into the Playstation store on a PC, but if i try to sign in on my PS i just get error messages about my password.

Is it just me? I need HD Fury YESTERDAY.

Still very little coverage on this. Eurogamer,Ign and gamespot still have no review up for it.

I guess there all too busy licking Cliffy B's Balls at comic con to review the years best DLC for a game.

    Mine is in my sig.

    TSA Review

    Gamestats Review

    Pushsquare Review

But seriously, it's Wipeout. If you liked the initial HD release, what's to wait for? I don't understand this. It's cheap as chips [well maybe burger and chips]. Just get it, download it, play it and enjoy it.

Only 52% and 276 minutes left. Is this normal for PSN these days?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,439 ✭✭✭Josey Wales

I downloaded this add-on in about an hour earlier this evening.

    Installing it right now.

How do you activate the Fury expansion?

I downloaded the 700MB+ file earlier and installed it. Then I installed the 109MB patch but I don't see any difference. When I try to play online against people with Fury it tells me to download it.

In my Game Data Utility folder I can see Wipeout Fury though.

    Is it in a bubble?

Mite just need to be installed, if you installed it you would know.

Mite have to download it again...sounds like your having a nightmare with it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,439 ✭✭✭Josey Wales

It was in the 'bubble' and I installed it. Now it isn't anywhere.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,422 ✭✭✭RAIN

I know its a terrible idea but have switched the console off and on since the install.

Maybe you should've installed the patch before installing the Fury download.

I downloaded and installed Fury before downloading and installing the patch.

I'm going to delete the Wipeout Fury game data and download it again. Hopefully when I install it a second time it will work.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,265 ✭✭✭RangeR

I had no problems. I installed the 100MB patch, then downloaded Fury. It downloaded in less than 30 minutes. Installed and worked first time. Just my experience.

If it's downloading slowly for you [200 minutes?] Is it your connection? Wifi signal bad?

Didn't have time tonight to do anything about my install issue. I will delete it tomorrow and re-install and see how it goes.

I finally got Fury installed and working on my PS3. Only got the chance to play it for a half hour or so but it is excellent.

I played one of the new Zone modes online but wasn't sure what the aim was. I came second though so that wasn't too bad. I think the elimination mode is great fun. I played a good few matches of that online. The ability to flip your craft around is awesome. I love facing oncoming traffic with a plasma weapon ready to fire.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,422 ✭✭✭RAIN

Glad you got it sorted, Zone battle - you just have to survive the longest and every time you go up a zone the person who activates it leaves a barrier behind them for people to crash into.

Great craic turning the ship around especially if you have a quake.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,439 ✭✭✭Josey Wales

So now that Fury has been out for a while what are your opinions on the new tracks?

Personally I still like to play the tracks from Wipeout HD more.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,277 ✭✭✭bugs

No one seems to be playing the new tracks, the records on rapier and phantom are all pretty poor.
I have a few issues playing them, for the most part the pads, all the standard tracks have an area allowance on hitting speed/weapon pads but it seems a little too unforgiving on the fury tracks.
The fast players are sticking to the hd tracks for now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,439 ✭✭✭Josey Wales

I haven't actually been playing online much lately. I must get back into it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,439 ✭✭✭Josey Wales

I finally got my last medal on the original Wipeout HD tracks last night. Only 11 months after I first bought it. Still missing one gold though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,439 ✭✭✭Josey Wales

Trying to get Elimin 18 Trophy is driving me crazy. You have to get 18 kills in the Eliminator mode but I keep getting 16 or 17 before the race ends.
