Not sure if correct forum but a quick question - If a doctor's prescription states "Tablets 20mg rpt x4" does this mean that it can be used four or five times? I always thought that the first batch is given and this repeated four more times (i.e. five times in total). Any help greatly appreciated.

It means that you take the tablets as directed by your GP (or psychiatrist), and that you can collect four month's worth more of them (but only enough for one month at a time). I suspect that this thread will be locked once the admin wake up in the morning. By the way, it's an antidepressant called Lexapro, isn't it?

it will be locked - not because of the innocuous question - but the tangent it will probably take!

repeat by 4 means - one month (or 1 weeks) by 4 = 4 prescriptions (Thanks from Robfowl!)

Chat to your pharmacist to be sure.
