Nope. TV Christianity in the main is a pretty dire affair in my experience.

Yeah some times if I am board , it’s kind of like watching a train wreck , Pat Robertson has a tendency to come up with some horrendous and vile things , (in-between giving financial advice) his post 911 bit with Gerry Farwell is notorious ,

Thank fully I don’t think many Christians hold his views although when he comes up with some stinkers most of the viewers seem to brush it off the same way most Catholics do when the pope comes up with some thing off the wall

I used to watch them when I had NTL digital. Incredible.

kind of like watching a train wreck
Reminds me of a couple of years back in St Petersburg, Russia when the satellite box in the flat I was staying in broke down and the only English-language channels were free-to-air religious ones. It was minus thirty outside, but suddenly it seemed like a nice place to be.

Anybody else noticed that many of the tellyvangelists have some engaging vocal tic - gulping a huge mouthful of air at the end of each sentence, expansively monotonic delivery, doing it all with the eyes closed and so on and on.

Makes me concerned for humanity that so many people have frightful trouble seeing through these splendidly silly stage acts.

Perhaps you're watching the wrong things. I strongly dislike those shows that turn Christianity into showbiz, a cross between religion and the shopping channels, constantly peddling something.

I don't watch televangelists, or preachers on TV, but I have watched some of the Christian stations with the SkyBox, and have seen some great TV, documentaries, history shows, chat shows, music concerts etc that put a lot of mainstream TV to shame. They tend to actually encourage you to think whether you agree with what they're saying or not, instead of vegetating in front of the TV.
