    Hi all.

    I am looking at buying a Volvo C30 1.6d.

Anyone here own one?, and if so would you recommend it?

It is €25,700 in Dublin and I am going to test one tomorrow.

However I was reading the Guardian Newspaper and Volvo UK have a special on the new low emission (104gm) diesel 1.6.

It is £11,718 stg incl VAT.

    Thats a whopping price difference.

They are a style over substance kind of car. As long as you don't need a big boot (it's tiny) or much storage space then it'll be fine.

They only cost 104 Euro to tax and should be extremely economical. The seats are very comfortable and the stereo is fantastic. The standard equipment list on an SE model is very high as well when you compare it to the likes of an A3 or 1 Series.

That special offer you see is probably a scrappage offer, which is only applicable to the UK.

Economical cars like these tend to be a lot cheaper if you buy them in england or the north. The VRT would be low as they produce little c02. Most manufacturers warranties are europewide and you can order the car with a kmph speedo.

On another note, these are a bit of a niche car and may be harder to sell in the future, couple this to volvo having poor resale values generally and you would want to be saving the maximum amount on the purchase price of this car to offset losses later.
