Not an answer unfortunately, but I'm curious as to why this appears to be poorly implemented? From my understanding a lot of smaller companies won't offer it due to the administrative overhead.

Is it that complex for a company to buy it on your behalf? Would there not be an easier way of implementing it such as offering tax credits and selling it directly to an individual? After all we have credits for such things as union subs so why not travel?

I thought you could get one on your own without going through your company?

I used to get one from the company I worked for and they didn't seem to be much overhead. They just buy it online, it arrives, they hand it to you and deduct it from your pay.

At least from the employee side that looks like all that is involved. I imagine some companies just couldn't be arsed offering it TBH.

They also have to deduct it from your salary in the appropriate way.

    It all takes time.

Very few companies can process an invoice for less than 20 or 30 euros, with all the approvals that have to be gone through.

I noticed that IE are advertising that this taxsaver ticket could result in 51% savings, calculating it as savings of:

    41% Income tax
    8% PRSI
    2% Income levy

Isn't the income levy applied regardless? Is a tax saver ticket exempt? I didn't think so and would've thought the savings would be 49% and not 51%. Can anyone clarify? The Taxsaver website is out of date.
