    Hi guys

Me and three mates are heading to Prague at the end of the month for 6 days. We are all 22 year old lads, Has anyone any recommendations as to where to stay ie. Hostels/apartments? We'd be looking for somewhere relativley cheap and most importantly near the nightlife/city centre....

    Cheers!

How cheap is cheap like per day? I was in Prague last July and it can be a ferociously expensive and extremely cheap city so you need your head screwed on. 6 nights is on the long end of most stays although I was there for 5 nights myself. There is alot of things to do there and shopping is decent enough if you avoid the usual touristy haunts. I stayed in a hotel I got cheap enough (very late booking) at €220 for the 5 nights and it was very convenient with the tram stop outside the door and sandwiched between two Metro stops on different lines so transport was a doddle. Mind you if you were to walk from it to Wenceslas sq (Prague's version of O'Connell st) it would be a long enough walk.

Prague has flights now from Dublin only with Aer Lingus, Ryanair and Czech Airlines. Ruyzne Airport is not linked to the Metro and your best bet is either the bus to interconnect with the Metro at Dejvická or take a taxi to your lodgings. Be careful in Prague as some taxis have a notorious reputation and the Mayor of Prague posed as an Italian tourist and got charged 8 times the normal rate. AAA cabs are the most reliable and I used them when I landed in there by night last summer and they charged me something like 510CZK (€19) from the Airport to my city hotel for like a 20min drive.

Prague is an absolute gem and one of the most beautiful cities in the world, it also has some of the best looking women you may ever encounter in your life. All in a great city and I am going back in July again as I was there last July 08 and it was scorching hitting 40c one day.

There are some good hotel deals on ebookers and lastminute now as I am also looking but for me it is now easier as I know the city and transport is extremely easy there so centrally located more expensive hotels are not a priority for me.

Post back any other questions or PM me

The Charles Hotel is an excellent spot!
1 min walk to Charles Bridge & the clubs!
