From 4.6.2009 our club is going to open up every night a week.So there is 7 nights a week and 7 different tournaments to play.Here we go so...Club players league included.

Monday:

Game: 70+ 10 freeze out
Stack: 6000
Clock: 20 mins.
Blinds: 25-50, 50-100, 75-150, 100-200, 200-400...



Tuesday:

Game: 35+5 re-buy, either 2 re-buys or 1 re-buy anf 1 add-on is allowed*
Stack: 4000 starting, 4000 for a re-buy, 5000 for an add-on
Clock: 15 mins.
Blinds: 25-50, 50-100, 75-50, 100-200, 200-400...


Wednesday:

Game: 50+5 re-buy, 1 re-buy or 1 add-on is allowed*
Stack: 5000 starting stack, 5000 for a re-buy, 6000 for an add-on
Clock: 15 mins. until the break, 20 mins. after the break
Blinds: 25-50, 50-100, 75-150, 100-200, 200-400...


Thursday:

Game: 10+ 5 re-buy, unlim. re-buys for 1st 5 levels, 1 add-on after*
Stack: 4000 starting stack, 4000 for a re-buy, 5000 for an add-on
Clock: 12 mins until the break, 15 mins. after the break
Blinds: 25-50, 50-100, 75-150, 100- 200, 200-400...


Friday:

Game: 60 +10 scalp freeze out
Stack: 6000
Clock: 20 mins.
Blinds: 25-50, 50-100, 75-150, 100-200, 200- 400...


Saturday:

Game: 0+5 freeroll,unl. re-buys for a tenner until the break,1 add-on after*
Stack: 2500 starting, 2500 for a re-buy, 3000 for an add-on
Clock: 12 mins.
Blinds: 25-50, 50-100, 75-150, 100-200, 200-400


Sunday:

Game: 100 freeze out
Stack: 6000
Clock: 20 mins.
Blinds: 25-50, 50-100, 75-150, 100-200, 150-300, 200-400, 300-600...

The tournaments above are our club regular games!!!

Club regular games info:

All our tournaments start at 9.30 every night,start of special or invitational events can vary. All tournaments are fully dealered and supervised by TD. Every player registered before 9.15 each night will be awarded 500 extra in chips as an early bird chip into his starting stack (N/A on Saturday night). In re-buy games *** re-buys are only allowed for first 5 levels or for first hour in 35 re-buy game tournament. There is going to be either 1-2 or 2-5 pot limit or all in texas holdem cash game organized on each night,(cash game can vary as round of each or pot limit omaha,depends on the interest of the players),there is the option to raise the blinds on cash tables at any stage of the night.Live straddle and live re-straddle is allowed in cash games.

I cannot believe you are only giving 6000 chips and a 20 mins clock for €100. Is this a joke? Why post in a poker players forum?

Surely, you are aiming at the gamblers market rather than poker players.

Simple,I need to start off with something and if you call into the club (which is in the new location in the town centre) and go thru all the sheets posted on a board beside the poker table maybe you will find 1 saying that I would appreciate any sort of suggestions,ideas,hints,advices and even complains.You are the first who did so,thanks for that,fair enough.I am open minded and i dont mind to change that starting stack, I dont really mind to change more things if people will not be happy.But I need to see the feedback first.Hope you understand that.Btw what you think about the rest of the tourneys?

Ok, buddy,thanks.As I sad things can be changed.Not too sure about changing blinds structure thou.Was running satellite for WSOP ticket last week and because I like to play tournament poker myself I was trying to give players a good value,descent stack,nice structure same thing what you looking for.At the end of the tournament few players (local regulars) turned over to me saying that it took too long to finish it up.Not my fault that people are mad to play cash games.You were asking early on what I want if poker players or gamblers.I want poker players but question is what poker players (or gamblers) want these days.Everyone is more than likely looking for cash table rather than good tourney poker game especially in clubs.Thats why I have to be as reasonable and flexible as I can and feed them all, had to take out few levels but its not because I am looking for more rake,thats just the reallity of poker game in Ireland lately.If people want to play good tourney they dont mind to travel even long miles.In clubs its a cash game poker.I cant go up against it.Right or wrong,happy or unhappy its just the way I see poker in this country. Anyway,thanks again for comments and just in case you around Athlone call into the club even you dont like my tourneys.I will open roulette for you :-) GL,Pavel

no I agree with you in some respects.

I will travel for a good tournament. I live just outside Longford. I travel through Athlone to Galway to play a good game. Or i go the other way and 1hr 15mins i am in Dublin.

I disagree with your statement that Irish poker is all about the cash games. I do not think you have an idea of what is going on elsewhere if that is the case. I have noticed that club operators more interested in the rake frequently lose business.

You have steady following in Athlone, but will it get any bigger. I don't think so. But good luck all the same.

The tournament schedule is pretty good. A wide variety of buy-ins. Everybody starts with the same chips so I don't think that is the biggest issue but I too would not pay €100 for 6000 chips as a low chip stack does not suit my game. We play all our tournaments with a minimum of 10k in chips and just take out some of the blinds depending on the buy-in.

I don't think I have your cardroom on the Cardrooms.ie website so if you send me your email address, i can send you the form to fill in.

I don't really understand, no.

It is not who can get one job or another. It is not how many posts you made on a forum it is about the availability of poker in Ireland and the value for money aspect.

As a €50-€300 buy in player there are better deals to be got. This is not personal, i was just offering some advice.

I never claimed to be an expert but I have played in a lot of different places around West Meath, Roscommon, Galway and the surrounding area to your casino. (including a lot of clubs all over ireland.) I played live 18 time in January, 20 times in February, 15 times in March, 12 in April and 14 Times in May. None of them where in the Lighthouse 25 mins from my house. What does that tell you? Let me ask you how many times you have played in Longford, Mullingar, Birr, Galway Eglington, Galway 4 Aces, or the games in Ballinasloe.

The problem is not that you are not brilliant at your job or personally inept. It is simply to do with the information you have at hand regarding what is available to poker players around your area. Most card room managers play in one place. (If at all) There own club. We as players see a lot more and are aware of a lot more going on than you guys.

You shouldn't take positive critism badly, especially from someone who is a perspective customer. ( I am only 25 mins away).

I understand you need to get in rake to make it work. I know you have good cash games there regulary. But, it is not the be all and end all of it. Surely, if you can get more people in for the tournaments you will get a higher proportional amount of people sit down at your cash games.

Although, I have not worked in your industry. The experience given to me playing so frequently, with so many TD's in many parts of the country counts for a lot.

If you want to have a club known for good poker then you have to change and offer more value in your chips and structures. If you want to keep going as you are then ignore me but you will not get any bigger.

So, I will not be apoligising to you. If you want me to come and have a chat to you then no problem, I will come in. We can discuss it face to face.

As I said good luck with the 7 days a week opening, I wish you, Alan and Tom all the best.

my friend,I will explane u 1 thing,I am a casino manager,not a poker club manager and the rake is not much important to me.We are very reasonable with our rake.I want to improve tournament poker game in a club not a rake.Stop going on about it.If i would be looking for rake I dont have any tournaments and just open cash tables.As I said I will accept any sort of criticism,just dont like when somebody is teellin me I dont understand poker.CLUB POKER I mean.We never met,buddy.If it wouldnt bother you much just call in,I will explane you my point of view.And if you wanna see some more details about our side games,special games,rake back information and so you got to make it into Athlone anyway.Its not posted on boards.So if you dont mind...you more than welcome.

You dead right in 2 thigns...You could be my future customer and I would like to meet you as soon as poss. and the other thing is that Im only new in west meath.Im only workin for Alan and Tom 4 weeks or so but Im not a new 1 in Ireland.I was workin for few lads running poker venues like celtic,club royale from Dublin,delt loads of pub games as well and I went thru 7 casinos in a space of past 4 years.Think I became a good friend and buddy of many Irish players,casino owners and other dealers.Its all for 1 reason,because poker is my friend and Im a friend of poker.6 night a week full time in a business for past 4 years and Im not talkin bout them nights off which I spend playing poker in clubs or online.I dont know if Im good or not but what Im sayin is that Im well experienced.Thats why I got so annoyed because you just say that I have no clue.Think I do.Another thing what you still goin on about...The rake...Im a manager of a casino not a poker club and rake is not my only income so dont worry about it.Our rake is reasonable.Think I dealt good few late games after closing hour with no rake taken just to give players bit more space to play.My mission in Athlone is to bring more tourney players into town not to rake a s..t out of them.Thats what Im tryin at the moment.If you will be the part of it or not I dont know Id like you to be but every player in this country has loads of options to go to play.I posted out tournament schedule which I think is suitable the best to the size of the casino and needs of my regular players.There is 7 tournaments to play and they are only the regular ones.There is more events ready but you can only get details in the casino I didnt post it on boards.Call in and have a look.Anyway,this is my night off and my regular game for tonight starts in 15 minutes in Atlantis in Carlow,which is my home town so I got to go.Stay in touch I wish you luck in your poker battles wherever you play.Pavel
