    Anyone here into Deerhoof?

I'm getting really into them lately. I've been a fan for a while (maybe around a year), but I only really listened to Friend Opportunity and Offend Maggie, I'm getting really into their earlier stuff lately.

Greg Saunier has to be one of the best drummers working today. He gets so much out of so little.

They're playing Whelan's in July, I can't wait. Anyone else attending?

Yeah I'd be fairly into them myself. You're right about Greg Saunier, he is a fantastic drummer. The Perfect Me is a good example of his talent.

Furious with the timing of the 3 Deerhoof dates. 3 gigs over 3 days, in perfect clash with the 3 days of Oxegen? WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO ME!?
Saw them supporting Radiohead back in Marlay Park but I was too young and naive to understand the weird excellence I was beholding. Grooving to Friend Opportunity very much so this days.
Hope they get picked up for Electric Picnic, seems about the only way I'd get to see them this year without travelling.

Them playing at Electric Picnic would kick serious ass!!
Yeah, I know what you mean about the young and naive thing, I saw them supporting The Flaming Lips twice three years ago and didn't "get it". Now I get it :)

I've seen 'em live, they're grand. The sound is good and interesting but has a tendency to grate at times which is a bad sign in a band. ^^

Or it could just be that Deerhoof aren't to your taste...?

I've not checked out their last album but saw them in temple bar music centre and they were excellent

I'd love to go but I'm away at Loop Festival in Brighton that weekend.

Support on at least one of the nights (if not all three - I'll check) is from Tuam's finest So Cow.

They supported Radiohead a few years back in Marley, was decent. If So Cow is supporting (like he is in Galway the night before) I'll probably attend the gig.
