Indentify insect [PIC]

    This little bugger flew in the back door when I opened it after hearing the cat scratching to get in.

    It moved quite quickly and it's wing span seemed to be maybe twice the length of it's body.

    Length of body without legs was about 2 inches, perhaps just slightly less.

    It attacked the CFL bulb in the kitchen and then fell behind the TV when I switched the light off.

    Seemed to have lost it's wings by the time I took a pic, the cat may have been the culprit there. I was afraid it might sting the cat, so I shooed it away.

    Anyways... I've never seen one like it before, looks nasty...

    They don't bite or sting, its a Cockchafer (Melolontha melolontha) sometimes called may-bug.
    When not using its wings they'll be tucked under its shell.
