Some family have to do some regular and sustained travel from Heuston to St.Lukes hospital..I know where it is (driving) ..but no clue about Luas/Buses connections .Could be a lot of trips and lots of expense, so any route information would be appreciated

The best bus is probably the 15b which goes from eden quay.

You could get the luas from heuston to the 'abbey street' stop and then eden quay is only 50 meters away.

You could also get the 92 from heuston and get off at St. Stephen's Green and then get the 15b from there. This would be a cheaper option than the luas. I think both buses are €1.60 each so would be €6.40 a day. An all day rambler is €6 for unlimited buses on that day, or a bus and luas ticket is €7.50 for a day.

You may get more info from Commuting & Transport forum.

and welcome to boards also :)

Your best bet would probably be the 128 or 14a. Hop on the luas from heuston to abbey street. Then you can catch both buses from d'olier street. Ask the bus driver to drop you off at dartry and st.lukes is a five minute walk.

The 128 actually terminates on Palmerston Park - very close to St Lukes. It has southbound stops on Cathal Brugha quay, Nassau Street and Kildare Street. Here's a link to google maps.

Route 92 from Heuston to Kildare Street and 14a (not 14) or 128 to Palmerston Park. Changing elsewhere means different buses stops, Kildare Street just has two stops together.

And alternative is Route 92 from Heuston to Kildare Street and 14, 15, 15a, 15b, 74, 74a Rathgar Village. If you want, let the driver know you are going to the hospital and ask him to tell you when to get off (the church in the village). The 65 and 65b will get you back to the city centre via a different route.

As far as I know, the hospital is only accesible from Oaklands Drive - some of the pointers on google are wrong.
