So yesterday I finally decided to watch Freaks & Geeks properly. I watched it as a child but never understood it fully. Now I can appreciate it. And it's amazing how much of an impact that one series has; it gave us stars like Seth Rogen, Jason Segel, James Franco.

Do a search - it was tv show of the week awhile back and was dragged up again no more than a week ago. Excellent show - easily in my top 3 tv shows of all-time. Bill is amazing and Martin Starr is far too underused in any movies he's in (Knocked Up, Superbad), so lets hope he has a bigger role in Adventureland.
I met Seth Rogen last year - he says the whole cast still get on really well and they see each other regularly.

I too watched it as a child and always wondered if yer wan got knocked down at the end of the last episode. Might watch it again, it seems to be a very underrated show.

I've owned the DVD since the week it was released, first watched it on RTE and was devastated when it was cancelled, must have signed every petition going at the time to get it on DVD... what a payoff, coincidentally I just started re watching again (which I do a few times a year)

Should have been the 'wonder years' of a generation if it wasn't cancelled.

    Terrible terrible show!

    HA!

Honestly, my favourite television show of all time! As I said in this thread, there's nothing as close to perfect as it in my mind. Stunning!

This is true, but we should still be grateful for the show nonetheless.

    Fox

    Eh NBC not FOX.

FOX were actually the good guys in this scenario, they aired episodes that NBC didn't when they got syndication rights.

Just discovered this on you tube, it's some funny stuff. Had heard a lot about it, a cult classic, all that stuff, and was doubtful it could live up to the hype, but it is class. Hard to get why it was cancelled, when there is so much dross out there.

Still, it had a legacy, so many of that cast are now well known, Linda Cardellini and Busy Phillips were in ER, (and Busy - what a name by the way, does she have a brother called Idle? - was in The Creek I seem to remember), James Franco, Jason Segel and Seth Rogen have all been in the Apatow films (playing practically the same roles), and even Jason Swartzman pops up in it as a guy who sells fake IDs. It perfectly captures that blend of excitement and misery that being a teenager involves.

One of the greatest shows ever. Fact.

    Fox

It was on NBC, Fox did want to resurrect it but many of the actors had taken up other jobs at that stages since NBC cancelled and stop showing the programming mid season only to reshow the whole thing later in 2000.

Fox did commission Undeclared but then the cancelled it after a year  also a great show very much underrated.
