That thread is so full of fail it's fantastic. Not only does he put brake fluid in the engine and wonders why it's clanking, he flushes the engine with ... flammable brake cleaner. Genius.

I'm all for novices, like myself, posting up questions that they think everyone else will laugh at but wow, brake fluid in the engine is a new one on me.

This is the best fail I have ever seen in my life.

It's twenty pages long, although alot of the posts are people laughing, so you can skip them.

If you have half an hour to spare, read it.

If you don't come back laughing, I'll buy you a lolipop.

    Related.

    Also, one I've heard personally
"I noticed the cold weather was making my cars brakes squeal, so I oiled them up this morning"

I thought/hoped he was talking about the brake fluid... but not... apparently he'd rubbed engine oil on the pads and disks. The stupidity required to engender a belief that oil on brake pads is a beneficial thing is beyond me. The only conclusion I can come to is that he must've been thinking about copper grease on the back of the brake pads, and got it wrong

Did anyone ever hear from him, after he went out in the car?

I vaguely remember thread on an Audi/VW forum in the states which regarded a crash due to reckless driving, if I recall rightly it turned out both parties were on said forum.

Personally, I feel sorry for the poor guy. Finding yourself being called an idiot from all over the Internet can't do much for the ego! Having said that, the closing page of that thread, where he said that he did go to the motors meet but couldn't find it, and then had to get a tow truck to get him home -- I just spilled a good glass of Irish whiskey over that:o
