passport out of date

I have looked through past posts and have not found anything relevant as the situation has changed since the 20th of May. I am flying to London on the 10th of June. My passport is out of date. I was wondering does anyone know if I show up to the passport office 9am on tuesday, how long it will take for the passport to get ready? Passport express takes ten days which due to the bank holiday I don't have! I booked my flights on the 10th of May and am flying with Ryanair, I could technically check in with my provisional liscence but that would cost 40 euro, so I think its best just to get a passport as I'll need it anyway! Please let me know also what do I bring to the passport office besides the application as in do I need my Birth Cert?

    Many Thanks..

you certainly need two passport photos, one of which signed by a garda...they need to sgn some stuff on ur application too..there is an extra charge to get it done on the day on top of the 80quid or whatever it is

Why bother doing it yourself. If our TD's want to act like a gombeen messenger boy, we might as well use them.

Personally, in a show of gratitude to the TD concerned, I would make a point of voting against them for engaging in this practice, even on my behalf.

A lot cheaper than the 90 euro she'll pay in the passport office along with the normal fee

yes its correct I'm only after coming back from London about a month ago and I didnt bring my passport I used my driver licence but I'd double check that it just depends on the airline

    Hey,

Thanks everyone for the replies. Its forty euro to check in with your driving license typical Ryanair squeeze as much cash as they can! You can't check in online with a license! I'll need a passport anyway so would rather get it done! Have everything ready so will be queuing bright and early tuesday morning! The garda said It should be grand if I bring my flight details..so fingers crossed! I'll post back here to tell all what the verdict is!
