Think myself and my girlfriend are going to head to croatia for 3 weeks in July. Seems like a good spot for a young couple to venture to and get a bit of everything in. Just trying to sus out best places to visit.. 4 or 5 places would really be enough cos we don't want to be luggging from place to place the whole time as it is a holiday. I Put this rough plan together so i'd appreciate any feedback and alterations

    Dubrovnik 4 nights

    Korcula 2 nights

    Hvar 5 nights

    Brac 4 nights

    Split 3 nights

Maybe Makaraska Riveria area as well bit where is this? Any other areas that would be worth visiting?

Would we need to rent a car to get around and is it best to pre book accommodation? We would want to stay in fairly good hotels with pools so don't really want to be taking dodgy chances.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Went around croatia with my girlfriend for a month last summer. Excellent choice. In regards to renting a car i wouldnt. The buses are very cheap and reliable. I went interrailing and ended up in croatia on my last day of the ticket so just used the buses and ferrys to travel around. If i was you i'd fly into split. Malév the hungarian airline fly into here for €200 taxes included. From here there are ferries to Brac and Hvar. I would recommand going down to Makaraska stayed there for a week. We got an apartment for €250 for the week and it was spot on. A bus which takes around 2 hours gos from Split hourly. Split is a lovely city in itself and you should defo stay there for a while. Hvar and Brac are lovely too. You can also get a bus down to Dubrovnik from split aswell. Spend as much time as you can there. We also went to zadar and zagreb but wouldnt go back there at all. Hope this helps.

nearly all of croatias national parks lie within 1.5 hours drive of zadar, ryanair fly direct to zadar too from dublin

some stunning scenery to be had in places Paklenica, Krka, Kornati and the majestic Plitvice Lakes, the drive to paklenica NP from zadar is really nice too
