hi guys .. Anyone know if u can connect external hardware effects to the m audio projectmix. Have a beheringer effects rack and like a few of the sounds on it. I know i can connect it to a mixer but am now using the projectmix and soundcard, mixer ect.. This rack could put effects on the full mix through the mixer but dont think there is that option on the m audio unit. Any input as usual would be great cheers..

It's got 4 line outs. Send whatever you want the effect over through one of the line outs -> your effects rack-> back into an input on the interface and record the new effected track

Cheers for the reply.. I understand the line outs go to the effects rack. Then it returns to an input. I am guessing this can change the effect on that track on my daw. "ie".. If i have something recorded on track 1 on my daw then i put the effect rack through input 1 to change the sound. If this is right must i do things a track at a time or can i do it all together. I previously used an alesis mixer/soundcard and it was great because it could do both.

Always leave the last 2 inputs and outputs for outboard ef/x.

You can either use a channel insert on your DAW to those outputs or if you are using something like a reverb for instance you can set up an aux send to the effects box via those outouts and return them on an stereo aux channel.

Smarter still is to use digi ins and outs!!

Good idea man.. Cheers for that. Might be a stupid question but what do u mean by digi ins and outs.. Are u talkin about spdif connections. This particular rack doesnt have that option unfortunately ..
