Future of high CO2 cars?

    Do you think the current tax rates will remain more or less the same for a long time? If you buy a 2007 car with high CO2 is there a risk at some point they'll drop the old rates?

    The old VW 1.6 is what I'm thinking of.

    I cannot see them removng the old cc system for a long time, at least until such cars have no ecenomic value. Remember after 30 years cars can qualify for vintage road tax.
    Did you Google what they did in UK? That might be a pointer to what lead we will follow.

    I mean they still operate two different systems like we do. The reason I said Goolgle it was to check if there were any reports, stories or confirmation of their have plans to do away with the old system. They were ahead of us implemention the CO2 based system, it is likely they will lead the way on remvng cc based system too.
