Freaky little lump in my tummy

    Hi...

First off, I know this isn't a medical board, and I hope this thread isn't against forum rules?

Basically I've a lump in the top left of my abdomen, kind of just below my ribs, I noticed it about a week ago but tonight it feels a little bit bigger or firmer or something. I can only feel it when I'm standing up, it sort of disappears when I lie down. It's maybe the size of a marble. I'm an awful procrastinator when it comes to anything medical - I just hate doctors - but today I rang my GP to make an appointment. The earliest I could get was 9am Monday morning.

The problem is, now I'm just freaking out and I know well I'll be stressing about it all weekend. I'm not going to sleep tonight or probably until Monday, and I've started to feel nauseous - but that's probably from the worry. I've myself convinced it's something awful like cancer. I have such a fear of ever getting sick - like properly sick - and I'm terrified of dying. I'm convinced I'm on the way out now!!

I'm just really hoping someone might be able to give me some kind of reassurance that this might just be something not so dangerous. As I said, I'm definitely going to the doctor first thing Monday morning to get it checked out.

By the way, I'm a 24 year old woman, OK health overall, and to the best of my knowledge not pregnant!!

    Thanks in advance ...
