Have you actually tried them yet?

Can you give a rating on the sound quality?

ya, i'm looking for something like this, but it depends on the quality, if this is half decent then i'd be very interested.

At 30W combined power output I wouldn't bother.

Does it have an optical SPDIF input?

That sounds like a very low power output, especially 5.1 combined.

Be good for a bedroom even, especially at that price.

    perfect for my bed room

    sound quality pretty good

it will turn stereo into surround

    spdif connections not supported

with the wires you get with it you can plug it into a headphones socket

the input is red and white rca plugs

its better than i thought it would be
    well worth the 30e

    i am happy with it

Its looks terrible, and 30 W combined power output, it just seems tacky, but I suppose thats represented in the pricing, I bet ya that bedroom doesnt see much action

Wow... its a bit much to insult the guy who put up the bargain for no other reason than that you don't like the set of speakers in question. That just comes across as tacky to me.

I mean sound effects from action movies, of course

Lads I haven't seen this system but at that pricepoint im pretty sure it only has analog RCA inputs for both the 2.1 and 5.1. That means you can't hook this up to things like the Xbox 360, PS3 etc (which use digital output like spdif) Some dvd players and sound cards on desktop computers will have 3 3.5mm ports (or 6 rca ports) for outputting to systems like this but this isn't a common setup.

I purchased a set of Labtec 475 2.1 new for €22 & used this to connect to the Xbox 360 and it would blow you out of the room. Regardless of esthetics, I would prefer the sound quality over that any day and in my case they're only 2.1

The Labtec 475 (all though still available if you look hard enough) have been replaced by the 485 & I've tried both, the 475 are far superior sound wise.

How did you use the item from Ebay to connect the speakers to the 360? I have audio connectors at the back of my TV (white and red inputs), would I be able to connect the speakers through these inputs?

Thanks man. Sorry for being a total noob but what do you mean when you say you get 3? Is there outputs for each speaker?

I used that lead from eBay & connected the leads from the 360 that would normally connect to your TV to it instead. That left me with a female 3.5 jack that the speakers plug directly into.

Note: This puts the sound from anything played on the Xbox, through the 2.1 speakers. The normal TV stations still play their sound through the TV speakers.

I wonder what you would need to have both working through the 2.1 speakers?

That won't connect the speakers to the 360

this is the one to conect to the xbox 360

if you use the lead from the link and plug it into the red and white audio connectors you will have sound from every thing thats connected to the tv

thats the way i have it set up and as any thing thats connected to the tv DVD,xbox 360 etc. the sound comes from the 5.1 speakers

Are you saying to plug that lead directly into the red & white on the TV & the 3.5 jack from the speakers into the other end?

Where does the leads from the Xbox go then?

I don't know if it's me or not but I still don't fully get what you are saying.

    One more try:

Leave the leads from the Xbox plugged into the TV as normal?

The speakers get plugged into the female jack of the lead you posted from eBay?

Where do the male RCA red & white from the eBay lead go?

But as per your earlier post you said the Xbox is already plugged into them?

You can't have both the Xbox & eBay leads plugged into the red & white on the TV?

    What am I missing here?

ok in that case if you want sound from eveything you will have to use the headphone scoket on your tv

i misunderstood what you said i tjought you red and white audio connectors on the back of your tv (separate from the yellow red and white use to connect your xbox) for output to speakers

Right, crossed wires it was :D

So is using the Xbox leads directly connected to the TV RCA sockets & plugging the 2.1/5.1 3.5 male jack directly into the TV headphone socket the only way to achieve output through speakers for everything?
