I,M looking 4 a very small uhf aerial with a booster to get a uhf signal 4 bbc1,2,itv channel 4 from northern ireland .THE building is 200ft high.
CAN I GET A SMALL AERIAL about 15inchx12inch approx .IE just a small aerial ,one plane flat, like a flat grill .I had one in the 90s ,it had a small round electric booster in the middle about 3inch wide.
DOES anyone know where i could buy one ,new or secondhand.IT would only recieve a signal when it was plugged in to an esb socket.
IS there a place thaty might have old secondhand ones .

    Maplin sell stuff like that.

It's very very poor compared to a real aerial and a decent Masthead amp.

Near Dublin you need about 15ft pole even on roof of a 200ft building. (to get above fresnel zone of building and noise from building) and either 4 x 18 element aerials or 1 x Hirchmann/Kathrien/Unix 100 type aerial plus a professional mast head amp for the 250ft to 300ft cable run (100m). Run PF100 type sat cable.

You'd be better off with a dish.

Small aerials are ONLY for local transmitters. Booster or not.

    but where?

In any case then ANY aerial will do better.
The amplifier is largely only for the loss of the aerial cable. Maybe 6dB worth while on a short cable to TV.

There are loads of better aerials than the one you mentioned.

If you are actually at the top of the building and facing north you can try the second aerial on windowsill. Widely available.

If there is a very weak analogue signal then 1, 2 or 4 of the 3rd aerial is needed on a pole on the roof, with a professional mast amp.

If there is NO evidence whatsoever, at 200ft high with aerial plugged direct into TV, then no better aerial will give a good enough picture.

A FTA satellite system gets more channels, perfect reception and under 70 Euro for DIY.
