    Small download (around 3 MB).

Never heard the fans going so fast before when the reboot happened. Talk about a jet taking off!

Still going around 2,000 RPM most of the time since the update.

I have yet to update, but that's how fast mine are going now anyway.

I take it that this update is for new generation MBPs ? My 1.83GHz Core Duo model doesn't pick up the update.

    Here it is: http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/firmware_hardware/macbookprosmcfirmwareupdate13.html

Would not apply to your MBP all right.

    Worrying news, if you're a worrier: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=9549034

Quite a few people having their MBP's die after this update, not that a direct link has been established - but we should keep an eye on that thread all the same.
