Just reading a thread over in AH about mens toiletries and I couldnt help thinking how lucky they were that thats all they had. Not so much Fashion and appearance territory since Im only interested in the ladies opinons on this.

So ladies, list all the things you use that keeps you pretty :p
Maybe not the make up. Id be here all day.

    Ok so here goes:

Face wipes- loads of different ones.
    Toner
    Dermacare Mosturiser
    Shampoo
    Conditioner
Face scrub - again, I have 2 different ones
Body wash - I have actually lost count of the amount of ones I have
    Moisturiser for very dry skin
    Razors
    Body scrubby thing..the bally things
    Wax..again..loads of different ones
Hair mousse, that I havent used yet
    Ear buds
    Cotton buds
    Toothbrush
    Toothpaste
Body butters -I have millions of these things around, and I dont use em
Lip balms- Ok I have a problem.

I think thats it. Thats not too bad actually

See I dont buy all of this stuff, some of it is gifts from people.

Actually, to those that use food stuffs as beauty treatments, do you just whip up a batch before jumping in the shower?

I use olive or sweet almond oil on my skin after a shower, sometimes either oil with some sea salt, as a scrub in the shower. No real whipping up required.

Looking at the extensive lists here, I can honestly say I don't know where anyone finds the time to use all the stuff.

It depends on the food stuff.

I keep the coffee granules in a tub in the shower tho!!

Meh, it doesn't take long. Just becomes part of a routine.

It's worth it though. I quite like looking after myself and making the most of what I have. I wouldn't see myself as high maintenance; I'm not; but I do like to keep myself well, so doing these things are simply part of my life.

I do have a very cluttered ensuite tho:rolleyes:

LOL......don't use it as an alternative fake tan anyways!!

I add the granules to my shower gel/scrub. The caffeine really livens up your skin and has a slightly toning effect also. You actually smell lovely after using it; and no, it doesn't stain :):):)

Johnson & Johnson do a lovely 'holiday tan'. Looks natural if applied well!;)

I look after myself too, don't get me wrong. I just feel that so many of the poducts that people use are more of a truimph of marketing rather than a triumph of effectiveness.

If anything could really erase wrinkles for example, it would say so, instead of claiming to reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

Outrageous claims are worded very carefully, because if they actually did what the phraseology implies, they'd be classed as medicines or pharmacutecals and would be subject to infinitely more stringent testing, as opposed to the ''2 out of 3 women agree'' multiple choice rubbish they use to validate their claims.

Just had a closer read of some of the posts: OH MY GOD! Ye'd want to be fair beautiful after all that stuff! I've got the basics [shampoo/conditioner/shower gel/toothpaste] but Jaysus some ladies here could practically open their own version of Boots!!!

I agree with you; I worked in cosmetics for years and don't fall victim to such claims. Nothing that I use is 'fangled' at all tbh; they're just things that work well with my skin and with the basic principles of how the skin works.

My mother always looked after her skin and herself and now in her late fifties she looks great, so this really has motivated me to do what she did when she was younger, as there has obviously been some benefit!!!
