Exchanging left over cash

Just a quick theoretical question. If I'm coming back from Japan with a load of yen, is my best bet to exchange it for euros over there or over here? Basically, who's going to give me the best rate, Japanese bank selling euro or Irish bank buying yen? Or will there probably be nary a difference? I'd hate to come back and find I'd wasted 30 or 40 quid by keeping my yen.

I have a hunch you'd be better off changing it to Euros while in Japan.

Spend it or just don't get out too much cash whilst over there.
