    Could anyone tell me if the political science dept. operate the system whereby if you fail one of your modules you have to repeat them all?

    Thanks.:)

    I would presume, like most other courses, that you can repeat a failed exam during supplementaries, assuming you aren't in a degree-awarding year.

    If you fail the repeat, then you probably have to repeat the entire year.

    If you're doing political science, and you have different political science courses then your are either in SF or JS BESS, Hist-Pol or Phil-Pol (Final years dont talk about failing modules)

    If you fail one in BESS you repeat that subject in SF, or JS same in SF Hist_pol and Phil-Pol.

    The rules are different for JS Hist_pol and Phil-Pol depending on your degree choice, so check the course guidlelines - you not be able to repeat at all.

    Basically - if you can repeat, you just repeat the exam that you failed. If you fails the supp. you repeat the year.

    Sorry I should have been clearer;

    I am a second year philosophy and political science student.

    I do three political science courses; Comparitive politics, International relations and History of political science.

    I fear I may have failed one of these exams. If I have, will I have to resit all three exams even if I have passed the other two (apparently it works like this in SF economics, for example? Can't seem to find this tidbit on the course outline!

    Thanks

    Hi Peter,

    As you are treated as a single honour course within the faculty of humanities I am going to assume that you only sit a supplemental in the particular exam you failed. Neither your course handbook nor the general handbook says anything to the contrary. The case where you sit everything again seems to refer to TSM or where one fails particularly badly only.

    Cheers Dan! Hope you are well.
