    Sorry now, but I'm a bit of a dumbass, when it comes to these things, but with the local elections coming up, what exactly are we voting for? I know we're not changing the irish government (not yet). So what will happen if I vote for person "A" instead of person "B".

    And the same goes for the Eurpoean elections?

    :confused::confused:

    Local elections is to elect local Councillors onto your County Council

    European elections is to elect the Irish MEPs who will represent ireland in the European parliament

    ...and, in some cases, town (or borough?) councils also. I'll be voting for Mayo County Council and Westport Town Council.
