I have heard on the radio the ads for shares in the 7th Forestry Growth Plan by the following company (website)www.irish-forestry.ie. Its a subsidary I think of IFS Asset Managers. Anyway, the shares are €750 each with a projected net return of €1786 per share after the 12 yr term. I thought it might be an idea to get a few shares for the kids etc but I dont know anything about the company themselves. Has anyone had any experience with this copmpany or the investments?

Look on their own website for your answer, "past performance is no guarantee of future returns" in wee yellow print.

This type of soft wood is mostly used in building, and building is not a great business at the moment. Perhaps again in a few years.

The kind of return you mentioned is probably mid celtic tiger, perhaps it would be a modest return but still better than rabodirect interest rates ;)

At 750 for your children, tis worth a punt?

Reminds me of when I was about 12 I bought a calf and my uncle raised it on his farm with his herd, and sold it at the mart for me, made a few pounds and I thought I was Howard Hughes  It's a nice thing to do for your children teaches them basic investing.
