Guarda Speed Trap ballymun

    This morning I passed what I think is a speed trap but can't be sure. It first consisted of an unmarked transit, then a Traffic Corp jeep with a camera on a tripod positioned behind it facing oncoming traffic leaving the M50 at the ballymun exit. There were no guards visible an nobody was being pulled in. Any idea's what this is? automatic speed trap perhaps? It was positioned at a roundabout which i find strange as the traffic rarely exceeds 50kph there and most of the time it's stopped at the lights.

    Of course in usual fashion the jeep with the flashing lights was hidden well behind the transit completely obscured to any potential speeders. Only the camera peeped out.

    Going northbound on the M50, off at ballymun exit, positioned after the 3rd roundabout exit (citybound) about 40 yards past the lights. About 8.30 this morning.
